Your Business

Grow your business with biomass and renewable heating

No doubt about it there is a very strong business case for ‘Going Green’; one of the most pervasive trends in business is the move to “Go Green.” To Go Green, a business must adopt more sustainable and eco-friendly business practices, for example by installing a renewable energy technology. Going Green is popular with businesses of all sizes because it’s both progressive and smart business. Why? Because you will lower your business operating costs, enhance your public image, do your bit for the environment and, most importantly, you will be able to take advantage of the governments Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) a financial incentive offered to businesses when they install an eligible technology like Biomass boilers or Solar Heating.

The Renewable Heat Incentive is the first financial support scheme for renewable heat of its kind in the world and will help to reduce the UK’s dependence on fossil fuels. Under the phase 1 of the RHI scheme most businesses are eligible for the RHI when installing renewable energy technologies like ‘Biomass’, ‘Solar’ and ‘Heat Pumps’. RHI payments are made for each kWh of renewable heat produced for using renewable energy sources.

The RHI presents a great investment opportunity for your business with 20 years of tax free index linked payments when you install an eligible Biomass boiler, Solar heating system or Heat pump.  Quite simply the Government will pay you to heat your business and you will generate an income. With a payback that could be as low as 4 years, you could enjoy a further 16 years of tax free index linked payments that will leave you in profit after heating your business premises (including process heat, heat used during production for example heating glass houses, cooking and steam etc. No matter what size your business the RHI presents a great opportunity to enhance your public image, cut your costs and put you one step ahead of the competition with those all important “Green Credentials”.

You can find examples of the likely return on your investment in the RHI section of our downloadable ‘Heating Guide’.

Why your business should act now

Delaying could cost you dearly. With the business RHI tariff already available it’s well worth considering taking action soon whilst RHI rates are at their highest, as overtime the Government intends to reduce rates to avoid over stimulating the market as happened with solar PV and the FIT’s. It might not happen for the immediate future but by installing an eligible renewable heating source, like biomass boilers, now, you’ll be sure to benefit from the maximum tariff rate for the full 20 years.

We’d like to give you the opportunity to discuss the potential benefits of renewable commercial heating for your business so we look forward to hearing from you.
